Climate change is a phenomenon characterized by long-term changes in temperature, precipitation, and weather patterns. With increasing greenhouse gas emissions due to human activities, such as burning fossil fuels and deforestation, the impacts of climate change are becoming increasingly apparent. One of the biggest challenges faced is increasing global temperatures which causes melting of polar ice and rising sea levels. Apart from that, climate change also affects rainfall patterns, which leads to drought in some areas and floods in other areas. In recent years, extreme weather phenomena such as storms, forest fires and heat waves have become more frequent, causing severe damage to ecosystems and threatening food security. The impact of climate change is not only felt in the environment but also has an impact on public health. Rising temperatures can trigger the spread of disease, increase allergies to pollen, and worsen respiratory conditions. Vulnerable communities, including children and the elderly, are the most affected. Governments around the world are starting to try to tackle this problem through global agreements such as the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement. In this agreement, countries commit to reducing greenhouse gas emissions to limit global temperature rise to below 2 degrees Celsius. However, the big challenge is effective policy implementation at the national and local levels. Renewable energy technologies such as solar and wind power are a hope in reducing dependence on fossil fuels. In addition, nature-based solutions, such as reforestation and ecosystem restoration, also play an important role in sequestering carbon dioxide. Public awareness of the importance of collective action on climate change is increasing. Environmental campaigns and education about the impacts of climate change are an important part of encouraging real action. Community involvement in mitigation and adaptation programs is needed to strengthen community capabilities in dealing with ongoing changes. Climate change is a complex problem and is interrelated with social, economic and political issues. Therefore, a multidisciplinary approach is needed to achieve sustainable and inclusive solutions. International cooperation and local action must go hand in hand to achieve greater success in fighting climate change. Society must be ready to adapt, including changing consumption patterns and increasing energy efficiency. Changing a more sustainable lifestyle, such as using public transportation and reducing plastic waste, can have a positive impact. To create a safer future, attention to and action on climate change must be our top priority.
