World Series Highlights

In a World Series that arguably has no equal in history, there have been many memorable moments and games. In this article, we will look back at some of the best moments in the World Series from the past century.

The 1991 World Series, featuring the Minnesota Twins and Atlanta Braves, was one of the most intense and exciting of all time. It was notable for several reasons, including the fact that the teams both finished in last place the year before the Series and that the Series ended in six games. In addition, ESPN ranked it as the greatest World Series of all time.

Game 1 of the 2024 World Series was a tense, back-and-forth affair that went into extra innings before Freddie Freeman delivered what would become one of the most famous home runs in Series history. It was the first walk-off grand slam in Series history and only the second in postseason history.

After Jack Flaherty shut down the Yankees in Game 2, they jumped out to an early lead in Game 5. However, the Dodgers rallied back with two runs in the eighth inning off of Yankee relievers Tommy Kahnle and Brent Honeywell. The rally was sparked by an RBI single from Kiki Hernandez and a tying double from Anthony Volpe off of New York’s Michael Kopech.
